New Work Permit from India

In my last visit to Canada I stayed 5 years with work permit. After that I returned India (my home country). I had filled tax return every years since beginning of my stay in Canada. But somehow last year tax return was not filled from India because by that time I returned in India. Now i am planning to apply for a new work permit for Canada. Can I do it? Will it be approved? or Will there be any issue?

Immigration and taxes are two different departments. If you are worried about owning taxes, you can first contact CRA and ask.

Thanks for your reply. But it is still unclear to me. Actually I wanted to know if i apply for a new work permit, will there have any possibility my work permit request be rejected by Canada Immigration due to my owning taxes?
