Canadian citizenship to a second generation born outside Canada

My grandfather and my mother were granted a Canadian citizenship years ago (before I was born). They both were born and lived outside Canada.
I was born before 2009.
When I check by eligibility with the "am I a Canadian" tool on the IRCC website it says that I am probably a Canadian citizen.
However, I see that according to the:
"Amendments to the Citizenship Act limit citizenship by descent: On April 17, 2009, the rules for Canadian citizenship changed for persons born outside Canada to Canadian parents, and who were not themselves already Canadian citizens when the rules changed. Canadian citizenship by birth outside Canada to a Canadian citizen parent (citizenship by descent) is now limited to the first generation born outside Canada." which means that as the second generation born outside Canada I am not eligible for Canadian citizenship.
Should I apply for a proof of Canadian citizenship ?

Sometimes these rules are confusing. The best thing to do is apply for a First Citizenship Certificate and let IRCC give you the Certificate or give you the reason why you don't qualify. It only costs CDN$75.00.
