Breaking News Skilled Worker Program To Restart
Good news for prospective immigrants to Canada: Canada’s federal skilled worker program is supposed to restart on May 4th, 2013. The program has been on hold since spring 2012 due to a backlog of applications which was overwhelming Citizenship and Immigration Canada. The Skilled Worker program allows prospective immigrants with education and work experience to become permanent residents of Canada. Once a permanent resident, the immigrant is one step closer to becoming a Canadian citizen. In order to qualify for this immigration stream, the applicant should have: recent work experience in the relevant field the ability to converse in English and / or French a university education a job offer in Canada a plan for permanently settling in Canada Applications are assessed on a points-basis. The most weight is given to education, followed by English and / or French language skills and relevant work experience. It is less important – but still important – to have obtained a job offer or to be able to demonstrate adaptability to Canada. Check out our page on the Federal Skilled Worker program for more information or contact us to get started today.
